About
About Naya Pakistan Bazaar
We write about the things Pakistan still makes by hand, and the people who make them.
Pakistan has crafts that took centuries to perfect: cloth printed on both sides in Sindh, tiles and pottery glazed in Multan's cobalt blue, shoes stitched and embroidered without a machine. Many of the people who make them sell only to their own town, or through a middleman. We want more people to find them.
What we do
- Stories: how each craft is made, where it comes from, and how to tell the real thing. Facts are sourced, and the sources are listed at the end of every story.
- The craft atlas: a map, in words, of which town makes what.
- Makers: free profiles that send readers straight to the maker. We don't sell anything ourselves and take no commission.
Where this site came from
Until 2025 this address was a small online shop. In 2026 we closed the shop and started again, around the crafts themselves. If you bought from the old shop and need help, contact us.
Corrections
If we've got something wrong about a craft, a place or a person, please tell us and we'll fix it.
